Utilizing 3D printing as the primary manufacturing process, a•nem•o•ne is a prototype envisioned as an open-source design for accent lighting that investigates and blurs the line between industrial design and sculpture.

Drawing on the works of Philip Beesley and Thomas Feuerstein for aesthetic and functional inspiration, a•nem•o•ne is installation-like and modular, permitting user customization, altering interior space and engaging light’s emotional potential.




The challenge I set for this project was to render organic forms--urchins and other sea life inspiring the five-fold and seven-fold symmetries that exist throughout the design--in Solidworks, a program typically optimized for mechanical and utilitarian forms.
