The atrium stairwell pendant light concept’s lines, volume, and form are inspired by both the interior and exterior architectural features of the mainland and island dwellings and geography central to a family’s intergenerational experience of coastal Maine.

Renderings above and below: The concentric repetition of the island’s confines emulates the dramatic tidal amplitudes that are perpetually altering the size and shape of the land mass.

Final material selection to be determined.

When viewed from below, the pendant reveals the familiar island shape, becoming spherical while ascending and descending.
